On Tuesday evening June 14, 2016 CultureFix, a new organization within the Greater Williamsburg Partnership, unveiled a wall mural called “A Walk in the Park”. This mural was completely conceived, designed, and painted by 17 year old Nick Rose. It is an abstract design that covers a very large area with the dimensions of 58' wide by 12' tall. The mural is located on the side of the CultureFix (Williamsburg Event Rentals) offices located at 4403 Ironbound Road in Williamsburg. People are welcomed, and encouraged to stop by and take photos! Local government, community members and other small businesses attended the unveiling event. In addition, Good Shot Judy played live music throughout the evening.
The vision of this new organization is “ to see the Greater Williamsburg community as a creative, vibrant community rooted in history and blossoming with culture”. CultureFix has published the following as a few of their organizational goals:
1.To produce unique arts and cultural events for the greater Williamsburg area;
2. To support and collaborate with local artists, organizations, and businesses that are mission-aligned and foster mutually beneficial relationships;
3. To work towards an art-inspired communal space and an enhanced arts infrastructure.
With a group of well-established men and women from our community serving as the founders and board directors there is no doubt that this organization will make it’s mark on the Greater Williamsburg area.
